Lärz ist eine gemeindefreie Stadt in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Lärz hat etwa 495 Einwohner, von denen die meisten in der Landwirtschaft und im örtlichen Kleingewerbe tätig sind. Lärz ist bekannt für seine Nähe zur Ostseeküste und ist ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel, insbesondere für Besucher, die sich am Badesee, einem der größten Seen des Landes, erholen wollen. Im Ort und in der Umgebung gibt es auch viele Betriebe, die Rinderzucht, Milchwirtschaft und Gartenbau betreiben. Außerdem gibt es zahlreiche Kleinbetriebe, die Obst und Gemüse verarbeiten und mit Holz handeln.
